The 33rd annual Last Run Car Show, hosted by Ark City Tumbleweed Car Club, took place last weekend, Sept 26-28.

Linda and Kirby Neal are the organizers. They have put together every show since 1976 and are the heads of publicity and registration. They are the owners of Kool Rides located at 802 E Madison in downtown Ark City.
The Neals show two cars, a red with black top, 1929 Ford Model A Coupe and a turquoise and white, 1956 Ford Victoria.

Tom and Karen Beckelhimer organized Friday night’s events. The Beckelhimer’s had their red and black, 1966 El Camino on display.

There was an early bird concert by the Donny Hustlin’ Band and an Elvis impersonator performed by Kent Estep.

Games, limbo, and a 50s attire contest rounded out the events. A craft show and vendors were set up throughout.

Saturday all the cars cruised up and down Summit Street.

Grand prizes for the best-looking cars were a Lincoln Electric Stick Welder, a Performance Package 700R4 from Suttle’s Transmission, and a $1,000 cash prize.

The Tumbleweed Car Club meets once a month for social events. Visit www.actumbleweeds.com for more information.
