3 vs. 3 basketball brings heat to rec centerNovember 4, 2008 NICKOLE VANDERWALL Staff writer In addition to the intercollegiate varsity sports at Cowley, they also offer a comprehensive intramural sports program. Any student is eligible to participate in intramurals. It is a great way to get in shape and make new friends. There are many sports that are offered throughout the year, and new suggestions are always welcome! This year’s 3 vs. 3 basketball players are “rockin’ the rims.” On the girl’s side, the KAK team is in first place. Players are Kayla Compton, Myka Wiebe, Amy Slane and Kayla Slack. Their record is 2-0. “We all really like basketball and we think we’re awesome!” says Wiebe. On the boy’s side, team Bigalow is also in first place with a 2-0 record. Teammates include, Andrew Emmons, Isaiah Owens, Daniel Murrell and Robert Young. “Well, winning is east but losing is hard,” said Owens. With only five more game days left, Nov. 6, 11, 13, 17 and 19, be sure to go check them out. The tournament starts Dec. 1, and a schedule will be posted soon.
